Joan Stevenson is an inspirational figurative artist who reflects the heart and beauty of The Creator in her acrylic and mixed media artwork. Her work is exuberantly colorful and unabashedly feminine and evokes a sense of peace and spirituality.
She received her formal art training from the University of Texas Arlington campus, as well as the University of Dallas, Rome campus. Living and studying in Italy stirred a passion for travel and a deep appreciation of other cultures, which lead to a decades long detour from an art career to travel the world in the aviation industry. After the pandemic curtailed travel, Joan decided to return to her lifelong love of art on a full time basis in her own little studio in Flower Mound Texas, where she resides with her husband and a menagerie of gardens and animals.
